Can anyone tell me if you can find bacon or sausages without sugar as everything that I have looked at has added sugar?

Bacon has sugar in it ??????  If so it must be a processed product. Try the local butcher for the non-packaged variety.. Same with sausages. I've never bothered to look but have always assumed that they don't contain any sugar.

Thanks John thats what I thought but on the TV show Sunday in NZ the presenter who was trying David's way of living for two months  and lost alot of weight said it was through giving up sugar not - and he held up bacon and sausages. So thought maybe you could.

That wasn't a replay of Peter Fitzimons talking with David Gillespie was it? Holding up a big bag of sausages to show how much weight he'd lost?  If so he wasn't suggesting that they contained sugar, but that they were better for you than sugar.  I suggest that you get hold of   Sweet poison Quit Plan and then Big Fat Lies - cheap prices and free postage from www.fishpond.co.nz

Havr you tried the Slape Brothers brand of sausages. They are gluten free, don't have any fillers, not sure about the sugar, will have to check next time. Most supermarkets seem to have them. Though I'm in SA, so not sure about other states.

Hi you dont have to deny yourself all sugar. David's typical meal example amounts to 8.1 fructose content.

The bacon I use has about .5 sugar per serve. It's honey cured streaky bacon. If you don't overdo the fructose you are ok.

    Kind regards gwendoline
