I think you're worrying too much. Eating glucose will increase your calories, if weight loss is the goal, but if you've gone cold turkey you're well past the need to worry about eating glucose. You should in general be careful you don't eat tons of it, the book makes clear that dextrose and glucose are for treats, not daily use, but, your path is up to you. You should lose weight because you should be eating less. If you're not, then perhaps you were eating fine before, apart from the sugar ?
