Fructose free diet shakes have been a very tricky thing to find, does anyone know where i could buy these from?

Most diet shakes i have looked at contain quite a bit of sugar and fructose, the only ones i have found are an amcal / guardian chemist "be good to yourself" shake, but they have discontinued the fructose free ones.

    Cheers Guys

I don't know anything about fructose free diet shakes, but I can only ask: Why?

Surely the whole point is to eat normal food, just avoid fructose.

Diet shakes are the height of insanity.  Eat normal food.  I do, and I lost 10 kg in a month.  My wife and daughter kept taking diet shakes and lost very close to nothing in the same time.

There's a huge section in 'big fat lies' about what a con 'diet shakes' are.

I lost some weight about 10 years ago with shakes. But in those days you had to take vitamin & mineral supplements. Now I think they are included in the shake. The worst thing about them is BORING!!
I suggest making a healthy lunch of sandwiches &/or salads before going to work, and just eating normal unprocessed foods. As long as they don't include fructose you will lose weight. Good luck.

I feel quite definitely that losing weight by a complete short term change of diet can only lead to eventual regain of the said weight.

I've lost nearly 20 kilos now over 3 years by trying to make improvements to my lifestyle. The biggest change has been to exclude fructose (thank you David) and the weight is just permanently gone. I feel great!  I know it won't come back, which is even better.

So i can't see that a special diet food is in any way beneficial.

I found protein shakes quite handy especially since my daughter had started school this year and when I didn't have time to sit down and have a decent breaky.  I found Aussie Bodies Perfect Protein was quite good (they do have a natural one which doesn't contain any sweeteners, however the chocolate and vanilla flavour do contain stevia and xyolitol).  We've since worked out a better routine and if you run short on time, preparations is definitely the key (I make breaky for everyone and lunches the night before, you could even make muffins and freeze them which I may even try myself!).  I liked the shakes for breaky however I found they didn't quite keep me going as much as I thought they would plus I'm not a big breaky eater as I found I couldn't stomach the entire shake so early in the morning.  I don't see it as a long time thing it was more of a convenience thing.

When caught out like that, I tend to just make a coffee ( I have an espresso machine at home, so it's nearly all milk ), or just drink milk.  Milk is a food and better for you than a diet shake.  I find it fills me up just fine when I am not especially hungry and when I want more, I just make toast.  If you've got kids, you're feeding them in the morning, just eat the same thing they do, that's what I do.

I've actually got an expresso machine at home too, I make myself my usual double shot latte every monring and I now drink it in the car while running the kids to school and day care while stuck in traffic.  Depends on what I'm having for breaky and how hungry I am some days I can go til 11am without any breaky other days I'll be hungry so I'll have my usual half wrap in the car otherwise I'll eat at work.  Definitely thinking myself of the muffin idea.
