I started living sugar free on 27th Feb. 2012. Initially I lost 10 lb (about 4 and half kilos) which I found very exciting. I started taking a magnyfying glass with me to check the sugar content of everything I bought in the supermarket. I can only find the original Uncle Tobys Oats that has no sugar. All other breakfast foods have some. Made up some muesli as your recipe said and have occasionally as a snack. In fact I am quite obsessive about no sugar. I have to say I have never felt so well in my life and many of my aches and pains have either gone or considerably decreased. I suffer occasional bouts of depression, but have not had one since February when I stopped having sugar. I had no trouble giving up sugar and hardly any side effects, unlike my skinny husband who had heaps as his previous diet must have been 50% sugar. But never mind that, what I cant understand is why I have lost no more weight since that initial 10 lb. I am still waiting for that natural hunger suppressor to happen, but it doesnt seem to have. I dont eat an enormous amount of food and certainly dont binge eat as I tended to do when I was eating too much sugar. I average about one fruit a day and some vegetables at night with protein. 2 eggs only for breakfast each day. I do eat, crackers, sugar free such as plain Sakata and saos witnsome vita wheat, topped with various cheeses such as cheddar or Brie or camembert or blue vein. Some nuts here and there. Cup a Soup that says no sugar . we have thrown out all sauces and jams andcondiments etc. Onl;y buy sourdough bread all varieties. No dried fruit or juice. Drink tea and no sugar and coffee with cream. I cant think of what else to do other than go back to the old ways of starving myself which never lasted . Help please Margaret

    Hi and welcome

I guess everyone is different, and I suspect that people who have trouble with the appetite control, are people who tend to eat for other reasons than hunger.  Either way, if you've stopped losing weight, then the weight you are now, is the weight your body maintains on the basis of how much you eat.  You don't say how much you feel you still need to lose, perhaps your expectations are too high ? The only way to lose more weight, is to eat less, or change what you eat ( for example, while cheese are in theory fine when your appetite control works, stuff like brie is still an obvious area to cut back if you're looking for additional weight loss.  The usual stuff would apply -eat more proteins and less carbs, eat small meals and wait 20 min to see if you're still hungry for more.  But it's hard to give much advice without being sure exactly how much you feel you need to lose, and if it's realistic.
