    Another thing to watch out for is serving size. For example, i brought some fresh soup which, yes the sugar on the label per 100g was 2.5 (therefore 2.5%) BUT a bowlful of it, the actual serve was 250g: which is 7.5 g all up!! Almost the day's worth of sugar intake!! So be prepared to do alot of trial and error and label reading.  Welcome and good luck on your journey!

    Yes, the 'amount per serve' label always assumes a very small serve indeed :-)

    I remember when i first started, took me ages to get used to reading labels and my first shop took twice as long (and was quite an eye opener), but it does get easier.  That is also a good suggestion, the per serve trap, it not only depends on how much sugar is in per 100g but also how much you are going to be consuming of the product.
