Ladies,
One thing that quite a few folks of the female persuasion have told me is that they find it more difficult to go cold turkey than their men-folk. Some of them have very successfully become unaddicted by slowly ratcheting down the sugar over an extended period. They recommend you total up your daily sugar intake, record it in a diary and then week by week (or day by day if you can stand it) eliminate one thing from it (being careful not to replace it) - for example today you decide that from now on you will have 1 teaspoon of sugar rather than 2 in your tea. Then they record the change in their diary and make sure they stick to it.
This of course will make the process of withdrawal much slower. But its better than not being able to do it at all. I liken it to the difference between my approach to entering a cold body of water and the approach my wife takes. She goes in one painful inch at a time, but I just jump in - prefering it to be over. The slower approach might be easier to stick to?
Cheers
David.
